My research interests span the areas of operating systems, networking, and distributed systems. I am particularly interested in cloud computing, especially in the study and mitigation of emerging security threats. My recent work focuses on making the cloud more trustworthy. Today many customers feel a loss of control over their data and computation when they use cloud services. I am building novel systems that leverage traditional trusted computing technology (TPMs) to provide end-to-end data confidentiality within and beyond the cloud.

Before joining MPI-SWS, I worked at the Distributed Systems Group in INESC-ID Lisbon on the design and implementation of middleware to help manage shared state in distributed applications for mobile devices. More details here.
