Welcome to my Online Home
Hi, I am Mainack, a graduate student at Max Planck Institute for software systems working with Dr. Krishna Gummadi.
I am a part of Networked systems Research Group at MPI-SWS. My research focuses on Online Social Networks (OSN).
I have completed my Dual degree curriculum (B. Tech and M. Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, India. My M Tech advisors were Dr. Debdeep Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Abhijit Das

About Me

Hi, As you might have already noticed I am Mainack, curently pursuing graduate studies at MPI-SWS under the supervision of Dr. Krishna Gummadi. I am broadly interested in large scale networked systems and always look forward to work on interesting problems. My current research focuses on OSNs and you can find more about it in the research subsection. During my M. Tech. I worked on cryptography, more specifically cryptanalysis of symmetric key ciphers. My research output from that phase can also be found in research subsection.
I am originally from Calcutta (now called Kolkata), a city in the eastern part of India. It is a culture-rich city with lots of diversities. After completing my dual degree curriculam from IIT Kharagpur, where I spent 5 wonder-years of my life, I re-located to MPI-SWS, Germany and I am simply loving this place. When not in lab you can mostly find me reading books or cooking or chatting or walking down the streets and enjoying the weather (in summer) or watching movies/plays and some (very rare) times painting or writing some thing just for fun.
I can be found in some social networking sites like facebook, linkedin or orkut. However the best way to reach me would be by e-mail. If you are interested in the work that I am doing or have any queries or just want to chat about anything, please feel free to drop me a mail.

Scribe
- I wrote a scribe as a part of my undergraduate "Foundations of Cryptology " course at IIT Kharagpur.
This work explains the notion of hard core predicates and one way functions as understood by me. I am putting the scribe here
Miscellaneous
I have tried many times but could not come up with a name that is short, sweet and at the same time expresses what this section is about. I plan to put the materials that does not fit into any of the above tabs and still deserves to be in my webpage. Finally I just named it as Miscellenous. Most of the materials in this website are personal and these copyright rules apply to them.I'll upload more contents here in near future. Stay tuned ! :-)
